Today, one of my best friends helped comment on my drawings. And she said that the proportions for the figures were off, so I re-drew the parts that were out of proportion.
For the front view, I smoothened out the waist. I also adjusted the knee height for both the front and side views so that the lower half of their legs would be of equal length to the upper half, and I adjusted the butt shape for the back view

For more practice I just drew random sketches concentrating more on the torso.

Today, I tried applying what I learnt from the symmetry lessons in an assignment where I had to draw a front face of a gremlin. I also did the back of a female figure from idrawgirls.com tutorial.

To improve my drawing, I have decided to draw at least one thing everyday. Be it stuff around my computer desk or from the tutorials I will make it a habit to draw everyday and hopefully, my drawings will improve. So here is todays work.
If you are observant enough, you'll notice that the "side" figure is a little off centred so it looks a little imbalanced. But I'll be more careful next time as to where I place my body parts (:

Oh! And a few weeks back I was looking through the app store on my Iphone 4 and found two really cool free applications, Photoshop Express and Sketchbook MobileX. So I experimented with them a little and came up with a quick "painting". It is supposed to be a dragon for those who can't see it, hahaha.

Well, I decided to start at the very beginning. To pretend that I have never drawn anything in my life so as to build up my foundations for drawing. So I'm currently follow lessons from drawspace.com, which in my opinion is great for beginners (like myself) or more experienced people, and this is what I have so far.
This one is about seeing shapes around the object which happens to be a duck.

The same lesson as the duck. This one is a computer mouse.
This lesson is about drawing the figure.

This lesson was about symmetry...which I obviously can't do.

This was another lesson about symmetry
This one is about seeing values (the different lights and darks)

Also, I've been following drawing tutorials which is centred more on figures and fantasy from idrawgirls.com. So far I have only learnt about sketching gestures and drawing the front of female figures (by the way, the website also has tutorials on drawing male figures too). Their not that good, but then again these are my FIRST drawings so cut me some slack k? :P

Random Gestures

This one too....

And this...
Well I will definitely continue to practice and draw to get them right and nicer looking (hopefully :P). It would take awhile but I just hope that this blog doesn't die by then.
